Bio: Manny is a security professional with a focus on AWS cloud security. With over 15 years of experience, he has worked on safeguarding valuable, regulated applications and platforms in both on-premises and cloud environments. Manny holds several relevant certifications, such as the GIAC Cloud Security Automation Certification, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, and AWS Certified Security – Specialty. A graduate of Virginia Tech, he has also served in the U.S. Army.

Abstract: As organizations increasingly adopt containerized workloads and microservices, security teams are confronted with unique challenges. During this session, we’ll peek under the lid highlighting the core distinctions between containerization and virtualization, along with the security advantages and drawbacks of containerization. We will discuss the complexities of safeguarding and monitoring containers throughout their lifecycle, from the container registry to production environments.

Abstract – Generative AI has become a hot topic, promising exponential increases in productivity and ease of scalability. With this change in paradigm come new questions about how our data will remain secure. We will discuss how to prevent and address these new security concerns for organizations leveraging Microsoft Copilot.

Sebastian is a solutions architect for Varonis focusing on North and South Carolina. He has 12 years in the information technology field, including consulting, infrastructure management and deployment, security and compliance. Currently focusing on data centric security by helping businesses correlate over permissive access, sensitive data concentration, and access insights to power behavioral based alerting to speed up the investigation and resolution of security incidents.
