Stephen Deck
Member Spotlight – Stephen Deck by Don Elsner (Education Director)
Stephen Deck is really hitting it “out of the park” for the members of Raleigh ISSA. He has presented several Back to Basics (B2B) sessions as well as our first ever all-day event (Packet Analysis) which was recently held at the RTP HQ venue.
He is currently working as a pentester at DirectDefense. He has a Master’s Degree from the SANS Technical Institute, as well as a Computer Science Degree from The Ohio State University. He has too many certifications to mention but he does hold the coveted OSCP pentesting certification.
Interestingly enough, upon graduation from college, he joined the U.S. Army as an Infantry Officer where the most technical thing that he did was to track ammunition using Excel spreadsheets.
He works remotely quite often and enjoys attending the Raleigh ISSA chapter meetings to network and exchange ideas with others. He said that presentations force him to hone his technical skills and practice presenting in front of large groups, which are essential skills in the consulting world.
When not “geeking-out”, he likes to spend time with his family and working on art projects.
Members – please thank Stephen for all of his hard work and expertise that he brings to our chapter.
