Mr. Alan Thomas Tromba
In 2006, Alan graduated from Southwest High School and enrolled in an associate’s program with Coastal Carolina Community College in Jacksonville, NC. Upon receipt of his Associate degree, he was accepted into East Carolina University to pursue his Bachelor of Fine Arts. Concentrating in Printmaking, Mr. Tromba graduated from East Carolina University in the fall of 2011.
Naval Flight Officer
November 2013, Alan was given the opportunity to become a Naval Flight Officer and left for Officer Candidate School at the end of August 2014. Mr. Tromba became a newly commissioned officer in the United States Navy and received the title of Ensign on the 12th of December 2014.
Ensign Tromba then traveled down to Pensacola, Florida to commence his flight training. During primary flight training, Ensign Tromba was deemed ‘Not Aeronautically Adaptable,’ and the Navy medically disqualified him from flight training in September of 2015.
December 2015, he was awarded an honorable discharge and separation from active duty service. Ensign Tromba was separated and sent to his home of record on April 30th, 2016.
Ongoing Education
Alan applied to East Carolina University and resumed classes Fall of 2016, where he is pursuing his second Bachelor Degree. During his first year back at the university he was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade in the IRR, achieved two certifications, one as a Vulnerability Management Specialist from Qualys and another as a Cisco Certified Entry-Level Network Technician, and became a member of the Information Systems Security Association.
Success Driven
Alan has become acquired his Cisco Certified Network Associate certification this December while continuing his studies in Information and Computer Technology to concentrate on Information Security and desires to re-enter active duty service with the Navy
