NEXT Showcase

The NEXT Showcase is a diverse team of students working to promote future technologies to all students and the greater Chapel Hill-Carrboro communities. From 360° experiences to virtual reality games, these students are creating content to introduce new technologies to their peers and neighbors.
Who?
The NEXT team is made up of a diverse team of students and perspectives.
- FemSTEM — Club for female students interested in STEM fields. The FemSTEM students are the VR Ambassadors for NEXT, and will guide participants through use of the equipment and software.
- Brothers of Unity — This CHHS program is aimed to offer support and resources to African-American male students.
- Tiger Tech Squad — The Tiger Tech Squad VR team is responsible for providing technical support for NEXT VR activities.
- Game Art & Design — The students in this course use their training and skills to create VR and non-VR games that will be displayed at the NEXT Showcase.
When?
The 2018 NEXT Showcase will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018. The public access will be from 1pm to 4pm on that day.
Where?
This year’s NEXT Showcase will be held at Carrboro Century Center. At the corner of Main and Greensboro St., the building is a perfect location to stop by.
How do I sign up?
We are encouraging those interested in attending to RSVP for the event, but as it’s open to the public, we will gladly provide guests without RSVPs the opportunity to interact with the VR hardware and student games.
