Information Systems Security Meeting Fort Bragg Chapter

ISSA Fayetteville & Fort Bragg meets monthly – 3rd Thursday of the month. Our meets start at 5pm with dinner & networking, and the presentation starts at 6pm.
April is all about ACCESS CONTROL!
Title: Access Controls: A Place to Start
Speaker: Gaylynn Fassler, MS, SSCP
Abstract: Access controls are at least 13% of security certification curriculum, but more importantly they are the backbone to any security strategy. In this presentation we will go over the importance of access controls, and look at the definitions of controls using current industry practices as an example to help attendees grasp the different definitions and real life uses.
Bio: Gaylynn Fassler is an information security analyst associate at Blue Cross NC as a member of the Identity and Access management team. She has a masters in criminology, and is a passionate and proud member of the InfoSec community. In her role at Blue Cross she is a member of a team responsible for provisioning access to over a dozen applications for an enterprise of over 4,000 people. She is an energetic leader and teammate, and always strives to work hard for and with the team.

ISSA Fort Bragg is focused on encouraging, mentoring, training and placing current and transitioning information security professionals into the workforce (government, military or private sector).
We help individuals find their specific passion in information security and help them achieve their goals. Though we specialize in transitioning Veterans, we welcome everyone who has a thirst for knowledge in cybersecurity. Whether you are looking for a roadmap, network, mentor or just a place to “nerd out” with your fellow peers you will find it here.
