Raleigh North Carolina ISSA Chapter: The primary goal of the ISSA is to promote management practices that will ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information resources. The ISSA facilitates interaction and education to create a more successful environment for global information systems security and for the professionals involved.

We usually meet the first Thursday of every month at McKimmon Center in Raleigh, located on the campus of NC State University.

The meeting starts at 6 PM with a social hour of networking, which usually includes a catered meal, courtesy of our meeting sponsor.

We call the business meeting to order at 7 PM, and the information security technical presentation usually begins at 7:30 PM.

Fall Conference

The Raleigh North Carolina ISSA Chapter is holding its sixth annual one-day security conference, named Triangle InfoSeCon, on Thursday, October 21st, 2010.

The April Chapter Meeting will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2010 and will be sponsored by Carolina Advanced Digital

Our speaker will be a security subject matter expert speaking on a topic that will be interesting and educational. Be sure to mark your calendar for this event, and come out early to network with other local information security professionals.

The meeting will be hosted at our usual location, at McKimmon Center in
Raleigh, North Carolina located on the campus of NC State University.

Our March presentation, sponsored by Shavlik Technologies, featured Nik Patronas , Senior Security Engineer, who spoke on Yesterday’s Trusted Web Sites are Today’s Malicious Servers (pdf) .

Raleigh ISSA Chapter donates $1500 to the McKimmon Center Scholarship Fund at NCSU.

The Raleigh ISSA Chapter endows an information security scholarship at NCSU, named the Charles W. Kelly / Raleigh ISSA Scholarship .
